Job Title: Public Relations Account Coordinator

Department: Public Relations (PR)

Reports To: Public Relations Director

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

Job Summary

The PR Account Coordinator assists Account Executives with the day-to-day management of accounts. They support the entire public relations team, assisting with multiple clients and events to ensure the smooth running of all daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and compile background information and analyze as needed.
  • Maintain status reports for all assigned accounts, detailing completed work, ongoing tasks, and all relevant information necessary for accurate reporting.
  • Proofread materials and adhere to client standards and protocols.
  • Ensure that all projects progress according to plan and deadlines, alerting the team to potential issues before they arise.
  • Assist in the development of content such as press releases, media advisories, or blogs.
  • Maintain and update a variety of files, reports, and media coverage clips.
  • Participate in the development of media lists and help maintain lists to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in media relations efforts including identification of target reporters, outreach, following up, and tracking.
  • Help support social media content development, monitoring, and posting.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented with a “get things done” attitude
  • Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, grammar, and structure
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking (analytical and creative), business acumen, and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Major in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Internships at an agency or with a consumer brand preferred
